Its hollow drum can be filled with sand or water & rolled over the surface of the lawn to smooth out bumps, alleviate swelling & increase firmness. Works great and nicely build product which wasn't too expensive. Hopefully it will least a while too.
I find the handy garden roller useful for re-levelling and re-compacting my sloping and uneven garden, and whilst the steel drum is only 1mm thick it is very robust. The required rolling weight is easily achieved by partially or fully filling with water, without the necessity of adding greater weight by filling with sand. The roller drum and easily attached handle arrived in a conveniently sized box via an excellent courier service, which kept me fully informed of when delivery was due. At £60, very good value. When not in use the drum is easily drained and the handle removed if necessary for re-packing in the original box.
Drum is not a perfect cylinder. Quick welding job done at factory. powder coated on outside will last probably a bit until scratched and starts rusting. It's already rusted inside as red water leaks from the plug. does the job though. not going to last forever, that's for sure. ok overall for the money.
