Gardena SmartCut Comfort Ratchet Anvil Secateurs
With the help of the especially comfortable and powerful GARDENA Comfort Ratchet Secateurs SmartCut, stronger branches and twigs can be cut extremely easily and ergonomically. Depending on the branch diameter, the ratchet function can be activated (PowerPlus) so that even stronger branches can be cut just as easily and comfortably. This is allowed by the ratchet mechanism "in three steps". The blades of the secateurs are precision-ground. In addition, the upper blade is non-stick coated. The aluminium comfort grip with soft components lies especially well in the hand. With the single-hand safety lock, the secateurs can be easily locked and safely stored. Have used Gardena secateurs for years. Product has been updated recently and while (imho) not quite as good as before, it is smooth and a joy to use (with thick leather glove on left hand!). Gardena build quality is second to none. And why did I change from earlier version? Because some idiot (who is writing this!) left secateurs on glove, and left glove on top of car and drove off!
Seems to reflect gardena excellence in reputation and coming with a 10 year guarantee is certainly impressive
I am a professional gardener. i normally use felco secateurs. i have tried a number of ratchet secateurs but they have all been cheap & poorly made. these are very good quality & enable the cutting of thicker branches with one hand. It's also very easy to switch the ratchet mechanism on & off. the only downside is that when the ratchet is switched off the various mechanical linkages still operate so cutting does feel a bit clunky at first however one gets used to it. the great advantage is that i can carry one lightweight tool that easily copes with most cutting. highly recommended. just one point these are not bypass secateurs but anvil secateurs.
I am very happy with these bypass secateurs.
