Fiskars LT6 WoodXpert Log Tongs for Lifting and Transporting Logs

These Timber Tongs are as good and as ergonomic as the Husqvarna version, (and therefore vastly superior to the clunky Stihl version) but with the added innovation of the stainless steel finger pull which enables manual opening of the tongs to accommodate a log as opposed to the usual occasionally awkward method of pushing the closed tongs over a log to push their jaws open. This offers a slight advantage, particularly with a larger diameter log, and after 25 years using the standard technique doesn't take long to adjust to. The tongs have a second innovation, the purpose of which I've yet to work out, namely a sprung catch beneath the handle not unlike a dog lead catch (for hanging them up somewhere when not in use? If so, then how to store the holster and toolbelt? Answers on a postcard...) , which so far just annoyingly gets snagged easily on twiggy brash. I think I'm going to angle grind it off. The tongs' plastic scabbard/holster is very robust and weatherproof, though sadly unlike the Husqvarna can't store any wedges nor does it have any metal loops to attach a timber tape to. The build quality and innovation is up to the usual very high standard of Fiskars. (Their bypass loppers rule!)

These log tongs are brilliant. Do the job really well. We ordered 2 so me and the hubby can carry long logs for cutting on the saw horse. Definitely worth paying the extra for the Fiskars brand.

Already own one, but needed a second so I could have one for each hand to even up the weight distribution. Excellent pieces of kit, easy to use, prompt delivery at competitive prices.

It was a present sent directly to it's intended recipient, I have not seen it. (But no complaints have been received)
