Although obviously priced for clearance it was extraordinarily good value and very timely for me. With a little mechanical ingenuity it is possible to attach the collector to other hedge trimmers. In my case, I have attached one to a G..? THS400. To do so, I replaced the screws which guide the moving blade with the slightly longer version available from Bosch as spares for the Bosch 7000 pro-t and attached small brackets which support the original G..? screws, thus providing attachment points for the Collecto. Delivery was prompt and packaging adequate.

This is second of these i have had (the first one just wore out)and am very happy with it. It is reasonably lightweight and the extra length of cut makes short work of the hedge. I cut 200m of beech hedge with it and there were no problems easily dealing with the larger sized shoots. Didn't use the collecto but can see how useful it would be on privet or box.

I purchased a bosch ahs 7000 pro-t electric hedge trimmer from tooled-up.Com. Not only was it the cheapest online price i found but it also came with a free colecto tool worth about £15 which i was not expecting! delivery was exceptional – i purchased it on wednesday afternoon and it arrived the next day in the morning. I have read a few reviews about poorly packaged hedge trimmers arriving with damaged saws but this was not the case – the original box does leave the blade exposed but tooled-up had completely enclosed the box and the blade in very tidy packaging which concealed the blade in a solid thick cardboard tube. i used the trimmer straight away that morning on the hedges that run along one length of my garden. It is a well-established deciduous hedge that’s about 60 feet long and over 10 feet tall. I was able to cut back the edges without the use of a ladder thanks to the length of the blade and the tops i cut by climbing up a ladder and managed to reduce it down to a more manageable 8 feet tall in no time. In my opinion the hedge trimmer is brilliant and is much more powerful than my 10 year old black and decker it replaces. It flew through the job cutting through some very thick branches including an elderberry that had grown out of control. i found it very easy to use – yes it’s heavy, but so are all power tools. Take it easy; stop for a cup of tea now and then and the job will be tidier and more enjoyable. It is no heavier than other trimmers with this long blade length. More importantly is the fact that the weight is very well balanced and the handles and switches are very comfortable and versatile. I found that i was never thinking of the trimmer and was always able to concentrate on the hedge, switching hand positions continually and instinctively. the result was very tidy and the job was completed in far less time and with much less effort than i had expected. The free colecto worked well on the top of the hedges. The hedge is about 3 meters

I have advocated a product like this for years and finally there is one on the market. first impression is that it appears to work well. time will tell.

Over several hours of first activity was very impressed by cutting performance on various hedge types including quite thick stems. It did not stall or trip out at all (have had previous experience of this with lesser products previously). Seems built to last but only time will tell. Can tire the arms if used for long periods but this is to be expected with this length of cutter and power rating (and hence weight). overall a very positive experience so far!
